Agile OKR Workshop Agenda (2 Hours)
Target Audience: Scrum Masters
Objective: Equip Scrum Masters with the knowledge and tools to effectively implement OKRs in their teams and align them with Agile practices.

1. Welcome & Icebreaker (10 min)
• Set the stage for engagement and interaction.
• Activity: “One Word Check-in” – Participants share one word describing their experience with OKRs or their expectations for the workshop.
2. Understanding OKRs & Agile Alignment (20 min)
• Provide foundational knowledge of OKRs and their synergy with Agile.
• Topics:
• What are OKRs? (Objectives & Key Results)
• How OKRs differ from traditional goal-setting (vs. KPIs)
• The Agile connection – Continuous improvement, focus, and iteration
• Examples of Agile-aligned OKRs for Scrum Teams
• Activity: “OKR Sorting Game” – Participants categorize good vs. bad OKRs based on Agile principles.
3. Writing Effective OKRs for Scrum Teams (30 min)
• Teach participants how to craft impactful OKRs for their teams.
• Topics:
• Defining ambitious yet achievable Objectives
• Creating measurable Key Results
• Aligning OKRs with Agile ceremonies (Sprint Goals, Retrospectives, PI Planning)
• Activity: Hands-on exercise – Participants draft OKRs for their teams using a structured template.
Example template:
Objective: Improve team predictability and delivery consistency.
Key Results:
• Maintain a Sprint Completion Rate of 85%
• Reduce Carry-over Stories by 30%
• Improve Sprint Planning accuracy by 20% (based on estimated vs. actual velocity)
4. OKRs in Practice: Tracking & Adapting (30 min)
• Understand how to review and iterate OKRs in Agile environments.
• Topics:
• Embedding OKRs into Sprint Reviews & Retrospectives
• Using OKRs in Scrum of Scrums & PI Planning
• Common pitfalls and how to course-correct
• Agile OKR Check-ins – How often? Who owns them?
• Activity:
• Retrospective Exercise: In pairs, review a failed OKR scenario and discuss how to iterate for the next cycle.
• Discussion: Should OKRs be tied to performance reviews? Why or why not?
5. Action Plan & Wrap-Up (20 min)
• Ensure participants leave with actionable next steps.
• Activity:
• “Commit to One” – Each participant commits to one key OKR action to implement in their team.
• Q&A & Open Discussion
• Final Thought: “OKRs are a compass, not a checklist – they should evolve with your Agile teams.”
